£1600 or free via fully funded Train To Gain, which may attract employer compensation.

Assessment method
For the NVQ award, you will be provided with: an assessor/internal verifier; standards; workbook; portfolio; support workshops; support from assessors via other methods; access to training workshops/other methods of learning to provide underpinning knowledge evidence where gaps exist; Mentor (if possible). Assessments will be carried out within the workplace by a qualified NVQ Assessor from Computer Gym at an agreed time and date. Forms of assessment may include: Direct Observation - an assessor will watch the candidate complete their normal work activities which will demonstrate competence in a variety of units within their portfolio; Workplace Evidence - to provide evidence towards the standards and underpinning knowledge; Oral/ Written Questions - to cover knowledge and performance evidence required for each unit of the qualification; Professional Discussion/ Guided Discussion - held between candidate and assessor where performance is discussed in relation to the standards of the qualification; Candidate Statement - written, typed or recorded digitally that cover situations the candidate has been involved in, or reflective accounts of your practice (guidance will be provided); Witness Testimonies - from supervisor or managers at the workplace. You will also be provided with an initial assessment and skill scan to assist in identifying optional units and agree a personalised learning plan with your individual assessor.

Entry Requirements
No formal qualification required, although it is an advantage to have achieved NVQ Level 2 in Care. Candidates must be employed in the care area and have competent literacy and oral communication skills. Candidates must be committed, enthusiastic, motivated and be able to work on their own and as part of a care team.
