Course info
This course focuses on the relationship between contemporary art practice and contemporary theory, and concentrates on developing projects, individual interests and skills. You will be encouraged to take an informed, creative approach to fine art in the broadest sense, situating your work clearly in contemporary practice. You will gain a sound understanding and knowledge of research methods to support sustained critical enquiry and practice, and will engage with current debates in the field. Working alongside postgraduate students in other disciplines, you will benefit from being part of our creative arts community. The areas of fine art studied on this course are contemporary sculpture, painting and printmaking, multimedia and installation, critical methodologies, feminist theory and contemporary practices.

Entry Requirements
Normally minimum age 21 by 31 December of year of entry; First or Upper Second Class Honours degree in a subject area which is relevant to the study proposed or; Other relevant and equivalent international qualifications; Consideration will be given to applicants who present a degree with a lower classification but can make a strong case for admission in relation to a particular project. If your first language is not English, a certificate is required as evidence that you have the necessary level of English to succeed on your chosen course. For postgraduate study, IELTS score of 6.5 (TOEFL 600 (CBT 250) or equivalent) with a minimum achievement of 6.0 for all components is required.
