- The Module aims to improve the linguistic competence of students and their confidence in discussing a range of issues in Italian. Furthermore, the module focuses on developing a deeper understanding of Italian society.

- Assessment method:
- Tasks will be set by the tutor at the end of each class, which will prepare the students for role-play and discussion in the following class. These will take the form of written, reading, listening or speaking exercises and will have a consolidation or preparation purpose. Although the work done by students will be assessed, students will be required to produce five substantial tasks, using their writing or speaking skills. There will be ongoing assessment by the tutor, taking into account the students' contribution to class and oral work, as well as their fulfillment of the regular language practice tasks set from each lesson. The tutor will set (in agreement with the students) the subject matter and nature of the five or more substantial tasks, either written or spoken (e.g. presentation).
